The first round of applications runs until April 14th, 2023

The Sustainable Blue Economy Partnership (SBEP), a European partnership under the European Commission’s Framework Programme Horizon Europe, launches its first Joint transnational call entitled "The way forward: a thriving sustainable blue economy for a brighter future".

The call is divided into two submission phases; the first phase runs until April 14th, 2023 (2 p.m. GMT). Pre-proposals that are approved will be invited to submit the full application in the second phase of application submission, which runs until September 13th, 2023 (2 p.m. GMT).

The SBEP aims to design, steer and support a just and inclusive transition to a regenerative, resilient, and sustainable blue economy. It aims to boost the necessary transformation towards a climate-neutral, sustainable, productive, and competitive blue economy by 2030, while creating and supporting the conditions for a sustainable ocean by 2050.

This call is aimed at Higher Education Institutions and their Research & Development (R&D) institutes and units, State or international laboratories based in Portugal, private non-profit institutions whose main purpose is R&D activities and other public and private non-profit institutions that carry out or participate in scientific research activities.

This partnership aims to promote the launch of Joint Transnational Calls, co-funded by the European Union, and which address priority areas under the SBEP Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda.
