November 22nd to 24th

The Portuguese chairmanship of the Eureka Network organized its first meetings, between November 22nd and the 24th. The work was carried out in Porto, with the onsite and digital presence of the several delegations.

Aside from the several workshops and B2B sessions, the highlights of the programme were the meeting on the calls for the Clusters in the sustainability area, the signature of a memorandum between the European Space Agency (ESA), the Eureka Association AISBL and the Celtic Next Cluster (represented by EURESCOM GmbH), as well as the High-level Group and National Project Coordinator meeting.

Additionally, two High-level Group meetings took place, during which global cooperation and the membership of non-European countries were the central themes, as well as the memorandum of understanding due to be signed with the European Commission.

The programme closed with the General Assembly, which was dedicated to topics like the Risk and Audit Committee and other Eureka Secretariat management activities.

The EUREKA Network is the largest global public network for international I&D and innovation collaboration, present in over 45 countries. Portugal assumed, on July 1st, 2021, the chairmanship of the network until June 30th, 2022. This term follows, on a chronological level, the Portuguese Chairmanship of the Council of the European Union, which ended in June 2021, and coincides with the Portuguese Co-chairmanship of the Council of the European Space Agency (ESA) on a ministerial level, also during 2021. The aim is for these moments to result in unique synergies for the promotion of new programmes and activities under the EUREKA Network.
